Why I built Kinship
Different work.
The same responsibility to make things clear.
For eighteen years I led technology, data, and transformation programs across several organizations, including Ernst & Young and Intuit. That work was never just about technology. It was about helping people make a decision they couldn't fully see: getting the tradeoffs on the table, naming the risks early, and keeping a dozen moving parts pointed at the same date.
Mortgage guidance calls for that same discipline, applied to a decision that shapes someone's home, finances, and plans.
So Kinship works the way I'd want it to work if I were the borrower.
What that means when we work together
What you can hold me to.
Your plans come before the loan amount.
What you want to still be able to afford after closing matters as much as what you can borrow. The amount you qualify for is one input. Your plans and preferred payment help determine what makes sense for you.
You'll hear what each option costs you.
Every structure gives something up — cash at closing, flexibility later, months before it breaks even. You'll hear which one you're trading, including when the honest answer is that waiting a few months beats anything I could arrange today.
You'll understand what needs attention.
Underwriting asks questions; that's part of the process. When an issue comes up, I explain what it means, what needs to happen next, and any effect on your timeline.
I hold the moving parts together.
Lender, appraisal, underwriting, title, closing. That coordination is my job, not yours — and when something needs a decision from you, I'll bring the context to make it, not just the request.

A question, a plan, or a decision you're still working through. That's a fine place to start.
